sugaringLA has perfected its method for glowing success, which includes three simple elements – sugar, lemon and water – but the fourth and smartest element includes exceptional franchisees. We are excited to officially welcome the first franchisees to the sugaringLA team, Destinee and Michael Enomoto. Let’s learn a bit more about what attracted Destinee and Michael to this revolutionary brand and what gave them the confidence to take the leap into franchise ownership.

Q: Tell us about your background and your passion for sugaring

I became an esthetician in 2016 and started my sugaring journey in Bend, Oregon. Sugaring is a hair removal process that is all organic, never hot, and safe for everybody! Offering sugaring set me apart from my competitors and helped me provide an elevated alternative to traditional wax. Since then I’ve sugared in California, Missouri, and now Florida, with many sugaring demonstrations across the country while working with the sugaringLA franchise team!

Q: Why did you decide to franchise with sugaringLA?

My husband serves as an active-duty U.S. Marine, and when we got married in 2020 I moved to southern California where he was stationed. I immediately started working for sugaringLA, taking clients and managing their Carlsbad studio. I learned about sugaringLA’s Smart Sugaring(tm) technique, low overhead, and simple business model and instantly fell in love with the brand. Working with sugaringLA owner Danielle Correia helped me grow into the sugarist and trainer I am today.

Q: sugaringLA is revolutionizing the hair removal industry. How does it feel to be at the forefront of that?

I love the sugaringLA mission of inspiring everyBODY with earthly care and lasting service, and I continue to be inspired by the team and brand. Since moving to the Jacksonville, Florida area we have pursued the unique opportunity of opening our own sugaringLA studio. I’m looking forward to providing the Jacksonville Beach community with the employment opportunity I had in Carlsbad as a sugarist, along with an elevated sugaring experience for everyone.

My husband and I have seen first hand the impact sugaringLA can have in a community, and we are excited to open our very own.
