OUR STORY

Cousins to Co-Founders

2nd Family is a family-owned franchise founded by cousins Joshua Markland and Chad Tracey. When their grandmother needed in-home care for Alzheimer’s disease, they faced difficulties finding the quality of care she deserved. This frustrating and emotionally draining experience made them realize many other families likely faced the same challenges. They empathized with families who had to settle for inadequate care due to limited options.

Determined to make arranging home care easier and provide peace of mind, they set out to offer the best home care services available, marked by empathy, compassion, and transparency. Fueled by a passion for improving the caregiving experience for everyone involved, the 2nd Family story began.

Providing help getting in and out of the tub/shower, oral care, and overall personal hygiene assistance also helps maintain dignity

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care

Some of your caregivers can be specially trained to help care for individuals with cognitive issues

Light Housekeeping

As daily tasks become more difficult, 2nd Family will be there to help keep the home clean and safe

Meal Preparation

To help ensure proper nutrition and healthy diets

Running Errands/Transportation

Assist with trips to the grocery store, to the doctor’s office, or even to social functions

Medication Reminders

Taking multiple medications can get confusing, so using our unique MedReminder system ensures your clients are taking the proper medication, with alerts sent out if medication is not taken properly. This gives clients’ families — and franchisees — peace of mind
